Drugsore foundations for oily skin.

Hello munchkins! I know I said that I was supposed to have a new post up on Saturday but my daddy came from Greece and just some other things where going on. Anyway, lets talk makeup! As I said before I have oily skin. I do tend to get breakouts and I do have some scarring and hyperpigmentation so I do look for a medium to full coverage Matte foundation.

Now I am a drugstore makeup junkie! There is not one time that I walk into rite aid and not purchase at least one makeup item. And who wouldn't love drugstore makeup? Its very affordable and you get a variety of different options! So lets get started on my most favorite drugstore foundations for oily skin.

I must say that my best one at the moment is the Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1 foundation.

What it does:
All-in-one foundation with a long-lasting formula that fuses primer, concealer, and foundation in one

easy step! The 3-in-1 formula provides a flawless look that lasts all day long.

So that's pretty clear. It is a primer, foundation and a concealer. It is full coverage and in my opinion it is a dupe for my all time favorite high end foundation that I will reveal in my next post.

Why I love it: It is full coverage which I adore! And a matte finish. I don't know about it also being a concealer because I do use my L'Oreal stick concealer for my under eye area.
It does not seep into pores like some other foundations so I do not use a primer. It does have 14 colors to choose, from light to dark skin tones. And it also provides SPF 20! I purchased mine in September when I was still tan in color "Golden Tan" which is a tad dark for me at the moment because I don't self tan my face but it does match my neck. The retail price ranges from $7 to $13 depending on what drugstore you find it.

My second best has to be Revlon Colorstay  makeup for combination/oily skin.

What it does: Longwearing coverage with a lightweight formula that won’t cake, fade, or rub off. With Time Release Technology specifically formulated for combination or oily skin to control oil absorption and shine. Your look stays flawless throughout the day

Again this foundation is awesome! I would say it is a medium coverage but can definitely be build up to a full coverage. I can't say about the 24 hr wear because I have never worn makeup for 24 hours. I usually have it on for 9 hours tops and it does not fade. I do feel that it oxidizes a little so I do set it with a translucent powder. And throughout the day depending on what I am doing I have to blot once maybe twice throughout the day.  It offers 20 shades which could be tricky because not all stores have all 20 colors. Mine has worn off because I use it a lot so sorry I can't share my color. I do love to apply this foundation with my real techniques buffing brush for amazing coverage and to get that airbrushed finish! And this foundation does need a primer especially if you know you will be wearing it for a long time. The prices again range from $10 to $13 depending where you purchase it from.

My 3rd favorite is Revlon Colorstay whipped crème foundation.

What it does:
Finally, truly decadent makeup offers ultimate performance. The mousse-like texture feels like silk on your skin. And, the time release formula balances skin for a flawless look. All day flexible wear without flaking, caking or feeling heavy.

Yes, yes, yes! In love with this one! I was always afraid of using a mousse foundation so I held off on this one for a while but when I bought it I fell in love! I apply it with my real techniques brush and with my beauty blender and it looks flawless! It gives u a medium coverage again that can be build up to a full coverage. I do need a primer just so it goes on even better and so it doesn't seep into my pores.I do set it with a translucent powder for a matte finish and it lasts about 7 hours with blotting at least once. Now this foundation is sealed so I couldn't test it out and figure out what color I am so I went on youtube to try and figure out what color I am and I ended up getting a shade darker "370 natural tan" it doesn't sound like it would be dark but it is! They offer 12 colors and the price ranges from $9 to $13.

Another mousse foundation is Maybelline Dream matte mousse.

What it does: Revolutionary air-soft mousse provides perfecting coverage for 100% velvet-matte perfection
  • Ideal for normal to oily skin
  • Fragrance-free, dermatologist-tested, allergy-tested, non-comedogenic – won’t clog pores, safe for sensitive skin

  • Ok so this foundation is light and if u have clear skin can be build up to medium coverage. It is very light weight which makes it perfect for hot summer days, and that is when I use it because my skin is clear in the summer so I don't use a primer with it, just a lightweight tr

anslucent powder to keep it matte. It glides on your skin like velvet and dries immediately to a matte finish and is best applied with your fingertips. So definitely a thumbs up for a summer foundation!!!
They offer 12 "air soft" colors. I am in light beige medium and I would have to say that they do run a little darker that what they sound like they would be. And this beautiful foundation ranges from $9 to $11.

Another favorite lightweight foundation perfect for summer is L'Oreal Magic nude liquid powder.

What it does: Get the ultimate un-makeup look with Magic Nude Liquid Powder Bare Skin Perfecting Makeup with SPF 18. Revolutionary liquid transforms on contact, leaving a soft powder like finish. This foundation is so amazingly lightweight it's like wearing no makeup at all! Just shake and apply – it’s magic!

So when this foundation came out everyone on youtube ran out and bought it, I was skeptical at first so I waited to see reviews. Everyone was head over heals for this foundation so I ran to rite aid and purchased it in "328 sun beige" went home and used it asap! I fell in love! All you have to do is shake it and apply, for me no primer was needed because it is a lightweight formula so it doesn't really clog pores. I found it best applied with my real techniques stippling brush. And yes it is a liquid but once blended on skin turners into a powder! I used it half of the summer and mid into fall and have nothing bad to say about it! This is a must have product for those hot summer days when you don't want y=to be wearing makeup but still need to look good! They offer 12 colors and so far everywhere I see it, it retails for $12.95.

My last (for now) foundation is a stick! The Maybelline Fit me shine-free foundation.

What it does: Our first gel stick foundation with an anti-shine core
Fresh gel foundation blends to a natural matte finish
Lightweight powders in the anti-shine core instantly dissolve excess oil. It’s one-step perfection.
The first of its kind – lightweight gel stick foundation with an anti-shine powder core: Powder core instantly dissolves excess oil.
  • For flawless, shine-free skin and tailor-made natural matte coverage.
  • Easy to apply and great on-the go.
  • Available in 12 oil-free shades.
  •
I was doing my nails in early August getting ready for my long island weekend with my 2 best friends when I was reading a magazine and came across this. I immediately called my friend who was at the store to pick it up for me. And ever since then I love it! I love it for the summer again as a lightweight foundation but also in the darkest color for a crème contour! But yes it is awesome and it keeps me matte. No primer needed just a blot throughout the day depending on the heat! Nothing bad to say about this I love it!!! My all over color is "120" and my contour color is "330" they offer  12 colors and they retail for $9 to $10!

Those are all my favorite drugstore foundations at the moment. I hope I helped anyone who was looking for a foundation that is not crazy expensive. I will be trying out a whole lot more foundations and will keep everyone posted on my thoughts! Have a wonderful remainder of the week and I will talk to you soon with my high end choices! Love you all and thank you tons for the support!!!

    Primers :-)

Hello my beauties! Tomorrow is finally Friday, one more day closer to the weekend yay!

So today I want to talk about Primers! Now I have oily/acne prone skin so I stick to matte products.
When I first started using makeup I never used a primer before my foundation but once I got used to wearing makeup and playing around with different foundations I noticed they wouldn't stay on very long and just slide off my face due to the natural oils it produces! So here are some of the primers I discovered that work great for me.

Primers are important for many different reasons,

    1. Because they cover your pores so that your foundation doesn't seep into them and make them appear  larger.
    2. They give a matte finish (for those who have oily skin)
    3. They help so your foundation glides on effortlessly.
    4. Most primers are HD, and this means that they photograph very well.
    5. Different primers with colors help with certain skin discoloration, and more.

My absolute favorite primer at the moment is Benefit The POREfessional!

What is says it does: Quickly minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines and help makeup stay put with this priming phenomenon. The silky and lightweight formula can be worn under makeup to create a smoother-than-smooth canvas or used throughout the day to mattify shine and touch up problem areas. It’s so translucent, no one will know you’re wearing anything! The oil-free formula contains vitamin E, which is known to protect skin from free radicals.

This primer for me and for many other bloggers and youtube gurus is the holy grail of primers!
It does what's promised! It glides on beautifully, covers pores but does not clog them. It is oil free and never has broken me out so I love it! It does have a tint to it but when you put on the skin it is translucent. You can find it at Sephora and ulta and obviously on the internet. The price is $30 and you get 0.75 oz. You don't need a whole lot of it and try putting only where you have enlarged pores.

My drugstore alternative is L'Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother Oil-Free.

This can be used as a primer or even when you choose not to wear makeup but still want to reduce the sign of fine lines and pores.
So What it says it does: It's not a moisturizer. It's not a foundation. It's more than a primer. Introducing Miracle Blur, the first-of-its-kind instant skin smoothing oil-free Finishing Cream. Miracle Blur was specially formulated with a distinctive cushiony texture that instantly blurs lines, wrinkles, pores and uneven texture. This unique Finishing Cream blends seamlessly into skin so it instantly looks and feels smooth, leaving a velvet-soft matte finish. A finishing cream in the truest sense, Revitalift Miracle Blur should be the final step in every woman's skincare routine, applied after moisturizer. It can also be worn under foundation for smoother, more even application and wear.

Why Is It Different? Revitalift's first Finishing Cream that delivers instant results. Opti-Blur technology diffuses light on skin for a soft-focus effect that instantly smoothes lines and wrinkles, hides pores and minimizes little flaws and imperfections. Miracle Blur has been specially formulated with a distinctive cushiony texture that instantly blurs lines, wrinkles, pores and uneven texture. Instantly blurs lines, wrinkles and pores.

A finishing cream in the truest sense, Revitalift Miracle Blur should be the final step in every woman's skincare routine, applied after moisturizer.

    See Dramatic Results:
    • Instantly erases the look of lines, wrinkles and pores.
    • In 4 weeks, wrinkles, lines and pores appear minimized.
    • Skin texture appears smoother.
As you can see in the picture it does come in the regular formula and also oil free. I Prefer the oil free formula. I have both formulas, I can say that the original formula has SPF as to where the oil free formula doesn't. I did find that for my oily skin the oil free formula did last longer on me. It is translucent and again with this one you don't need a whole lot of product.
You do get more product with this one, it comes in 1.18 Fl. Oz. and you can find it at any drugstore including ulta and the internet. Price ranges from $20 to $25.

For color corrector when I do have redness due to breakouts I go between 2.
For a more high end product I use the

SMASHBOX Photo Finish Color Correcting Foundation Primer. I use the green one that minimizes redness.
What it does: The experts at Smashbox Studios Los Angeles know that a flawless, print-worthy image requires retouching and color-correcting. This revolutionary lightweight, oil-free, skin-perfecting primer formula—can be worn alone or under foundation to increase its longevity. This silky blend of antioxidants, vitamins A & E, and soothing botanicals, like soy, lemongrass, and orchid complex, rejuvenates and refines.

What else you need to know:
ADJUST: green-toned to reduce redness and correct botchy skintone.
BLEND: apricot-toned to even out skintone and specifically counteract dark spots including brown spots and uneven skintones.
BALANCE: lavender-toned to brighten dull or sallow skin and even out skintone.

So this primer works wonders if you have redness. You apply it to your face and minutes later you see the redness disappear! Its actually really cool! Now this primer is also a "Photo Finish" primer so it does photograph pretty good. This primer also comes in different colors for different causes.
This primer can be found at Sephora and ulta and the internet.
It comes in 1 fl. oz which is $38 but also comes in 0.4 fl. oz which is $10 so you can also buy the sample size to try it out.

My Drugstore alternative is L'OREAL Studio Secrets Professional Color Correcting Primer

Again I use the green one for correcting my redness
What it does: Professional Color Correcting Primers glide on smoothly to immediately correct and improve the look of your complexion. Each of the three professional correctors is formulated to address your unique skin type:
Anti-Redness: Neutralizes rednessAnti-Dull Skin (light skin):Illuminates and adds warmth to light complexions
Anti-Dull Skin (medium/deep skin): Gives a radiant, healthy glow to medium/dark skin tones.

I like this formula as well because it is a cheaper alternative and it does cover my redness pretty well!
This primer can be found at any drugstore as well as ulta and the internet. You do get less product in this one compared to the smashbox you get 0.68 fl oz but it is a lot cheaper at $13!

Around my birthday I became a VIB at Sephora and received a free makeup application so I decided to use it on my birthday. Me being crazy with makeup and my skin I was asking the girl who did my makeup to tell me exactly what she was using. Once she put the primer on my face I knew I would love it!! She used the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 15.
I fell in love ! it glided on my skin and felt so silky and smooth!!
What it is: A mineral-based, water-resistant primer with SPF 15 that neutralizes the skin, minimizes shine, and creates a smooth, uniform canvas for flawless makeup application.

What it does: What it does:This clean, satin-finish formula helps keep makeup looking fresh and prevents fading. Veil Mineral Primer also absorbs excess oils and minimizes the appearance of pores by evenly distributing light to help hide and soften skin imperfections and fine lines.

    What it is formulated WITHOUT:
    - Parabens
    - Sulfates
    - Synthetic Fragrances
    - Synthetic Dyes
    - Phthalates

What else you need to know:
Veil Mineral Primer is formulated with naturally derived titanium dioxide and zinc oxide instead of chemical sun-blocking agents. This water-resistant primer is also 100% free of fragrance, oil, and gluten.

So it does a lot, as do all the Hourglass products. It truly is an amazing product and you just have to try it to understand what I mean!

This can be found at Sephora and online. It comes in 3 different sizes which is good for you pocket :P
0.33 oz is at $18.  1 oz at $52 and the jumbo size 2 oz at $72 a $104 value!

And last but not least a primer that keeps my makeup on all night. Benefit Cosmetics Stay Flawless 15 - Hour Primer.

I picked this primer up before Christmas because I knew I would be going out and I would be wearing my makeup for a long time. And boy am I happy I did! The formula is tricky because it is in a stick formation and it does dry very fast once you put it on your skin but it did prolong the wear of my makeup!
What it does: Take flawless into overtime! This instant PRO-long primer acts like a magnet to lock on your foundation for up to 15 fresh and flawless hours. The invisible stick-primer glides directly onto skin for optimal wear and a natural-looking finish.
What it is formulated WITHOUT: - Parabens

What else you need to know:
Do the twist! Remember to turn the stick down before replacing cap.

    Research Results:
A consumer-panel survey of Hello Flawless Liquid Foundation & Powder self-reported the following results:
    - 94% said it helped foundation last longer
    - 97% saw an improvement in the look of skin/complexion
    - 94% said it increased foundation coverage
    - 97% said it enhanced foundation’s performance

It does what's promised. It prolonged the wear of my makeup and didn't break me out at all. Some people do say that it breaks in half so you do have to be very careful not to wind it up to much and don't use to much pressure. How to use it, the website and the box say to put it all over the face and immediately put on your foundation so this way it is mixed together, but it does dry fast so you have to work quickly with it. I suggest to do small areas, each time so it doesn't dry on you. This primer can be found at Sephora ulta and the internet. It is 1 size 0.54 oz and costs $32. Don't forget that it is in a stick formation so you will have this product for a while!

And that was it for primers ladies. I do have 2 more that I haven't tried out long enough to do a review on but I will soon! One is drugstore and one is high end. I'm sorry that there where only 2 from the drugstore but it is tricky to find primers at the drugstore.
I hope you liked this post and I will have a foundation post up on Saturday or Sunday and that will also include formulas for dry skin and combo as well! All comments are welcomed ladies as well as what posts you would like me to write next! Have a wonderful remainder of the week!

Love, hugs and kisses from my home to yours <3

It is safe to say that there has been a whole lot of hype over Urban Decay's Newest Addition to the family. The Naked 3! It  includes 12 brand new colors, Rich Rose Gold colors and 4 darker colors.

At First i was a little sceptical about this palette but once i saw the colors swatched i was sold!
Yet again Urban Decay's shadows are very pigmented and rich and the color pay off is amazing.

At $53 it is on the pricey side but i believe that every woman needs to have a palette like this one.
The Rose Gold colors compliment many eye colors and you can play with many different looks with this palette.

I recieved this palette from a dear friend for christmas (Thanks Chris!) And ever since I can't seem to reach for any other palette! For everyday looks to party looks i just can't get enough of the rose/pink golden colors!

What you get with the palette:

The Packaging Is Quite Simple. The Box itself is pink and the "Naked 3" logo is Rose gold
with a swatch of the colors on the bottom.

    What You Get Inside:

So inside you have the palette itself and 4 samples of eyeshadow primers.
The palette Is Pink and The logo is rose gold and 3d.
    The primers include
The Original: "This undercover wonder Works invisibly to keep color in place."

Eden: "This Nude matte formula preps lids and preents shadow meltdown"
This primer Works wonders for those with oily lids!

Sin: "Just a dab of this shimmering formula prevents fading and creasing"
So for my ladies that have problems with their shadow fading and creasing this one is great for you!

Anti-Aging: "Makes shadow last AND in an 8-week clinical study:
100% of participants had a measurable improvement in the appearance of fine Lines and wrincles.
    100% had measurably brighter skin.
97% had a measurable improvement in radiance and clarity."

Wow thats a lot to remember huh? So each primer offers different finishes and colors. All primers are creaseless because who likes it when there shadow creases on them after acouple of hours??? Not me!
A bit more Info on the color of each primer.

    Original: Dries Down Invisibly.

Sin: Goes the distance in a shimmering champagne shade.

Eden: Has a subtle nude matte finish that covers and brightens the eye area in seconds.

Anti-Aging: Measurably improves the appearance of fine Lines and wrincles in 8 weeks.

My personal prefferance is "Eden" it is a matte formula which goes best with every shadow, matte or shimmer and does a decent job on covering up any veins that you may have on your lids to start off with a blank canvas!

And Finally Unlike the Naked and the Naked 2, The Naked 3 includes a double ended brush as to where Naked and Naked 2 had a regular brush.

The more fluffy side of the brush is a rather good brush to blend out your shadows as well aspack them on to the lid.
The more flat side of the brush is also good to pack on color especially to the inner corner of your lid and also to use for the brow bone.

    And Finally My Beauties...The Swatches!

    Look at those gorgeous colors!!!!
    So we start off with

"Strange" A beautiful matte champagne color perfect for highlighting the brow bone as well as adding that Extra omph to the inner corner of your eye.

"Dust" Again a beautiful chamagne shimmer color. This color Works great to open open your eyes and add that beautiful shimmer for a night out! (Works great if u spray your brush with fix+ or even eye drops and what that does is pack on the color to make it appear more vibrant)

"Burnout"  Another rose gold shimmer color similar to Dust just a bit more pink.

"Limit" A beautiful matte pink color. I love this color all over the lid and even in the crease for an everyday look.

"Buzz" Another gorgeous shimmer rose gold color, a little more darker than the previous shimmer colors but again can work amazing on the outer v of the eye for a night out on the town!

"Trick" This color can be a bit tricky. I had to scrape a little of that Top film off with my tweezers to get the color pay off because it was not coming out as vibrant. But it is a beautiful gold shimmer color!

"Nooner" This color had me sold!! A beautiful darker matte pink color. I love using this color on my entire eyelid as well as a transition color in my crease to add more definition.

"Liar"  Liar looks more of a matte color in the pan but once swatched it is this beautiful rosegold shimmer color. A bit darker than all the others but oh my gosh it is amazing!!

And now the last 4 darker shades!

"Factory" Ok wow just look at that color!!!! How amazing???
Ok so this is a wonderful Dark rose gold to almost light Brown shimmery color. You can do so much with this color i don't even know where to begin!

"Mugshot" Again another beautiful brownish color jam packed with shimmer! I love this color all over the lid just under the crease with a black winged liner and black mascara and you are ready to hit the night!

"Darkside" A dark grey color with just a little bit of shimmer. This color is beautiful on the outer v of the eye lightly blended into the crease.

    And Lastly....

"Blackheart" Just a beautiful black color with shimmer perfect for that perfect smoky eye ladies!

If you don't have a palette with these beautiful Rose gold tones you should go out on a lim and get this palette. I adore it and i hope you all will to. I hope i was helpful to you ladies that where not sure if you wanted to purchase this palette.

Hope you all enjoyed this post my beautiful ladies! Always remember you are all beautiful!
Have an amazing weekend. Hugs and kisses from my home to yours!
